Explore the region which offers a great variety of things to see and do. Within half an hour or an hour from Stokke Nedre you have reached three large towns around the lake, the olympic cities of Gjøvik, Hamar and Lillehammer.


A selection of what to see and do:

  • At the farm have boats and canoes for rental and there are great spots for fishing in lake Mjøsa.

  • Have a barbecue outside the boathouse by the lake or enjoy walks in the lovely scenery. The Pilgrim Trail between Oslo and Nidaros in Trondheim passes one of our fields just above the farm.

  • Sail with "D/S Skibladner”, the oldest paddlesteamer in the world which is in daily traffic. 

  • The town of Gjøvik has its own Glass Factory and Chocolate Factory which are both worth a visit.

  • Maihaugen in Lillehammer is an open air museum with 200 old and new buildings, exhibitions, cafes and lots of activities..The mountain area of Hafjell and Sjusjøen are only 45 minutes away, a recreational area both in summer and in winter.

Especially for the children:

  • The family parks Hunderfossen and Lilleputthammer are both situated just outside of Lillehammer, a 40 minute drive from the farm.

  • Totenbadet is only 20 minutes from the farm, and it has Norway`s longest artificial waterfall, wave pool and a tropical climate with 32°C in the air and 3 swimming pool with 35°C in the water.

  • The Science Centre in Gjøvik is a technology-themed amusement centre offers plenty of activities for inquisitive visitors of all ages. .

  • The Norwegian Railway Museum in Hamar offers modern indoor exhibitions as well as a large park featuring various railway buildings and track systems.
